Mission Statement

The Fox Valley Young Artist Festival exists to inspire young musicians through educational and performance opportunities and thereby provides:

    • judges’ critiques of their performance,

    • a venue in which to meet and hear other young    musicians,

    • encouragement and recognition, and

    • clinics and prizes to help further their music education.

Fox Valley Young Artists Festival Schedule

Appleton North High School

The 2004 Fox Valley Young Artist Festival is held in collaboration among the Fox Valley Keyboard Teachers, the Fox Valley Symphony, Fox Valley Symphony League, Lawrence Academy of Music, and StringWorks.

In addition to the competition, workshops are scheduled to help young musicians learn how to prepare and perform in competition.

10:00–3:00 p.m. Registration and Preliminary Rounds of Competitions

10:00–4:00 p.m. Exhibits

3:00–4:00 p.m. Concurrent Workshops to include:

     • proper care and maintenance of string instruments

     • combatting stage fright

     • parent/teacher forum

4:00–5:00 p.m. Pizza supper (reservations required)

5:00–7:00 p.m. Final Round of StringWorks and Youth Soloist Competitions
