I have a Francilaus Xav Schweigl violin that I believe was manufactured in 1855 that I am interested in selling. This instrument has been totally restored and is in wonderful condition. It also has a bow with an appraised value of $1,200 that has also been restored. This instrument was purchased prior to WWII by my grandfather from a German violin teacher for my mother to play. She played this for many years in the Grand Rapids Symphony. The instrument has a very rich sound and my mother, who was a virtuouso, loved the instrument. She passed a few years ago and suggested that I sell the instrument and use the money to travel to Europe. After two years I've decided to take her up on her suggestion. Please respond or email me at pdebartolo@yahoo.com if you know anything about these instruments, if you would have any interest in this instrument or if you know where I could find more information on this instrument. Thank-you.
