Kallo Bartok violin -
#388, made in 2008
'Second'. Ebony
fittings, Wittner Ultralight composite tailpiece, Aubert "A"
bridge, Thomastik Dominant strings, highly figured 2 pc. maple
back, ribs, neck and scroll, tight grain spruce top, honey brown
oil varnish, very warm, round tone - more richness than
soloistic quality that is typical on the Bartok violins.
These 'seconds' are priced in the Outlet because - like some
instruments that are lightly blemished - we feel it is important
not to charge the full amount for the instrument if it fails to
meet our stringent requirements.
